Salalah, Oman: A Beautiful Surprise

If you asked me before this trip what I expected from Salalah, Oman, I probably wouldn’t have imagined this.

I didn’t expect it to be this beautiful.

Salalah was my first trip to Oman, and honestly, it completely surprised me. There is something so peaceful about this place — the greenery, the open spaces, the mountains, and the slower pace of life. It feels different from the busy cities I’m used to, and that was exactly what I loved about it.

We visited at the end of March, so it was already a little warm, but that didn’t take away from the experience at all. In fact, the warm weather, beautiful scenery, and peaceful surroundings made it feel like the perfect little escape.

What surprised me most is how underrated Salalah feels. You don’t always hear people talking about it the way they talk about other popular travel destinations, but I honestly think it deserves more attention.

Maybe that’s part of its charm.

Salalah isn’t just about taking beautiful photos. It’s the feeling you get while you’re there — calm, quiet, green, and unhurried. Sometimes, you don’t need a complicated itinerary or a long list of things to do. Sometimes, you just need somewhere beautiful enough to make you slow down and appreciate where you are.

And Salalah definitely gave me that feeling.

My first trip to Oman, and definitely a place I’d love to experience again.

Place: Salalah, Oman

When I visited: End of March

What I loved: The greenery, peaceful atmosphere, mountains, and the feeling of escaping the usual busy routine.

Would I go back? Absolutely.
