One of My Favourite Things About Working in HR

When people think about Human Resources, they often imagine interviews, recruitment, policies, and paperwork.

While those are definitely part of my job, there's another side of HR that I genuinely enjoy.

I love preparing team activities and decorating for our employee events.

Whether it's a simple celebration, a themed event, or a team gathering, I always look forward to planning the little details. Seeing an empty space slowly come to life with decorations is something I find surprisingly relaxing and rewarding.

What makes it even more special is seeing our team members

smile, take photos, laugh together, and enjoy the atmosphere. Those moments remind me that HR isn't only about processes—it's also about creating experiences that make people feel appreciated and connected.

I don't consider myself a professional event planner or decorator. I simply enjoy being creative and adding small touches that can make an event feel warm and memorable.

If you're a student thinking about a career in HR, you might be surprised to discover that this profession offers opportunities to be creative as well. Every workplace is different, but in my experience, some of the most meaningful moments happen outside the office desk—bringing people together, celebrating milestones, and creating memories as a team.

It's one of the reasons I still enjoy what I do today.
