How to avoid feeling discouraged after multiple rejections.

I hear you. That feeling is completely normal — even people with years of experience go through the same thing. It doesn’t mean you’re failing, it just means you’re in a tough phase of the process.

Maybe this is a good time to pause for a moment and reflect a bit:

  • Take a fresh look at your CV — is it really showing what you’ve done and what you can offer?

  • Think about how you’ve been applying so far — are you just sending applications, or adjusting your approach along the way?

It also helps to give yourself a simple timeline when job hunting. Not to pressure yourself, but to track your progress and know when it’s time to change or improve your strategy instead of repeating the same thing.

And honestly, the job market right now is very competitive. It’s not simple. There are many applicants for the same roles, so it’s not always about capability — sometimes it’s just how things are.

That’s also why networking matters more than people think. In a situation this competitive, having even a small connection can make a real difference. It’s not about “knowing people” in a big way — just building genuine connections step by step.

At the same time, keep applying. Don’t stop. One “yes” is all it takes, and you won’t get it if you step out of the process.

But also… be honest with yourself in a healthy way. Look at the roles you’re applying for and ask: “Am I matching this level right now?”It’s not about dreaming smaller — it’s about being realistic for now, while still working toward where you want to be.

You’re not off track. You’re just still on the way — and this part is harder than most people talk about.

Before you go, I'd love to share something with you.

I created this free Job Search Journal to help you stay organized, reflect on your progress, and keep showing up—even on the difficult days. I hope it becomes a small companion throughout your journey.
